Recently completed my fourth guitar. Black Walnut B&S, Sitka Spruce top, Sapele neck, East Indian Rosewood bindings and headplates, Ebony fingerboard and bridge, Lacewood rosette, Maple logo inlay, Gotoh mini M6 machines, iBeam active pickup My first cutaway, and my first headstock inlay. This was spec'd by my friend in the Navy. He's helping fund my luthier education by paying for the parts. My time is still free at this point. I figure since I can't guarantee the results, my customers (or benefactors depending on your point of view) shouldn't have to pay. Thanks for the kind encouragement, everyone. The finish is French Polish over Zpoxy. It required a lot of patience, but I can't complain about the result. |

Lovely job - geat looking instrument. Kind of doing the same right now in that building for cost + a bit towards tools etc. Its very much a hobby for me, but building for folks who are good musicians, helps me focus alot more than if just building for myself - and means if I want them to be used regularly they better work out! - Thankfully its a great way to learn with just enough pressure to keep things honest, but not that with comes with serious money, that could buy folks pro built instruments. I figure, that this helps me learn and improve and that if I get good enough, the fees will come in time |
